Dr. Fahad Ali is an Assistant Professor at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE). Prior to joining ZUFE, he served as an International Exchange Talent Introduction Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University. He began his academic career in 2014 as a PhD scholar in Finance at Zhejiang University, following the completion of his MBA in Finance and BSc in Mathematics with Statistics; he also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Accounting from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP). His doctoral research was fully funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and supervised by Prof. Yuexiang Jiang (Zhejiang University) and co-supervised by Prof. Numan Ülkü (University of South Australia).
His research focuses on empirical asset pricing, FinTech, sustainable finance, behavioral finance, financial economics, and energy finance. His broader quest is to understand how different markets, investor types, and households interact with each other and affect the broader economy and its sustainability. He has published extensively in leading journals, including Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Finance Research Letters, Research in International Business and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and International Review of Finance, with nearly 900 citations on Google Scholar. Dr. Fahad Ali actively collaborates with researchers worldwide and welcomes inquiries from students, colleagues, and potential collaborators. Before transitioning to academia, he worked as an Assistant Manager at HBL, Pakistan’s largest financial institution, focusing on credit risk and financial inclusion. Throughout his career, he has received numerous scholastic distinctions, research awards, and performance accolades. He has also secured multiple national-level grants and serves as a reviewer for more than 50 international peer-reviewed journals and as a Section Editor and Editorial Board Member for two Scopus-indexed journals.
