Dr. Tang Yao is an associate professor at the School of Public Administration, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, and serves as the director of the Department of Labor and Social Security. She received her Ph.D. in Economic Sociology from the University of Nottingham, UK.
In recent years, her primary research interests focus on social security and related fields and has presided over more than 10 national and provincial-level research projects. She has published three monographs and translations in both Chinese and English, and has authored over 20 academic papers in SSCI and other Chinese and English journals. Her collaborative research have been awarded the Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Social Science Research Achievement and the Prize of National Civil Affairs Policy Theory Research Achievement.
Dr. Tang is also actively committed to teaching and curriculum reform. She has successively initiated projects such as the Zhejiang Provincial Education and Teaching Reform Project, Zhejiang Provincial Ideological and Political Education Research Project, and Provincial Industry-University-Research Collaborative Training Project. The courses she leads have been recognized as Provincial Excellent Graduate Courses and Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Courses etc. She has led students in conducting in-depth field research and has guided them to win awards in provincial competitions, including the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and Rural Revitalization Creative Design Contest etc.
